| Essential Skills as a predictor of safety performance among CPPI–Certified Petroleum Professional Drivers in Alberta |
In March, 2004, the Canadian Trucking Human Resources Council (CTHRC) and the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute (CPPI) concluded a pilot project which was designed to determine whether there might be a correlation between the skill levels that Petroleum Professional Drivers have in Reading Text, Document Use and Numeracy and the likelihood of having safety incidents. Their research drilled down into four types of incidents: spill, mix, vehicle accident and personal injury.
